What are you Doing to Help Stimulate the Economy

I was thinking about my budget.  Like everyone else, I have a different approachpiggy_bank to money directly in relationship to the current economic focus.  Do I quit spending all together?  Do I give up my occasional designer coffee?  Do I hold off on that new spring jacket?  Do I stay off the car lots?

Everyone has to answer this type of question for themselves.  I’m sure the coffee shop is hoping I come back, the clothing store is hoping I come in and the car lot is hoping I choose them.

Money is like water… it needs to flow and circulate to be alive… if it just sits in a jar in the dark without movement, it stagnates and becomes brackish.

Sitting on every penny simply adds to the general economic constipation we are dealing with.

Of course, we need to be respectful and careful and change our ways.  We have a big mess to clean up and we all need to do our part.

But…  we need to circulate what we can, where we can.  I know many of you are doing this.  I certainly am… I am committed to growing my business… I will be respectful and thoughtful, but I intend to circulate my money/energy.

I understand I have to be open and allow money to circulate and flow easily about me in order to attract abundance.  I understand that scrintching my energy around money is going to keep abundance out of reach.

I have a discussion at Happy, Healthy and Authentic: Loving the Woman in the Mirror facebook group page on tips and techniques to enhance your smooth and easy relationship with money, you are more than welcome to go over, receive the wisdom and generosity of others and offer your great ideas too.

Happy, Healthy and Authentic: Loving the Woman in the Mirror group address: http://tinyurl.com/dataqs

Also:

My friends at EVErywoman’s Evolution group shared a wonderful idea and I just have to pass it on as a brilliant and grass-roots way to circulate money/energy.  The concept is to be generous without expectation of recognition.

Angela Bosworth Frisbe wrote : “This month, we have an activity we’re asking EVEryone to try. Take a dollar bill and with a marker, write the words, “I Bless You with Health, Happiness, & Money” (or something similar that you like better) and hide it somewhere that someone (a stranger) will find it. You can put it behind a box of crackers in the grocery store, or in a library book that you return, or any other anonymous technique you can create!”

What a wonderful idea!   Of course, we don’t have $1.00 bills in Canada, but I am sure I can spare a $5.00 bill or two…

Charity is an action with an extremely high vibration, it’s right up there with gratitude. Charity primes the pump, it’s a powerful way to circulate money/energy.

So, I am going to continue to expand,

  • be respectful
  • be charitable
  • be grateful
  • and buy my designer coffee and a great black blazer to boot…

Wishing you great abundance and creativity in your charity…

The Universal Sound of Peace

It occurred to me that I am busier now in my supposed ‘retirement’ than I ever was when I was working outside the home… I have several major projects on the go at the present and I can easily get off balance and over focused on them…

a relaxed attitude

just be here now...

Then… something as simple as my very demanding cat jumping on my lap, insisting on my attention, makes me stop, and set my thinking aside and just be… just enjoy…

My cat… Gracie, was a foundling… well… I found her as a baby wondering around by our local college, far from any houses… much too young to be navigating the streets alone… and I scooped her up and claimed her as mine…

My family says that’s the definition of stealing… that she is ill gotten goods… I say… “whatever… she’s mine now”… or rather… “I’m hers now”… she has been running our lives for 10 years… Everything is about her… she wants what she wants when she wants it… she even tells me when it’s bedtime… we are merely heated furniture…she keeps us around for her convenience…

The sound of a cat purring has been likened to the universal sound of peace… I agree… that sound… resonates with me… when she is laying on my chest, her face close to mine, purring… I allow myself to close my eyes and connect with it… just be…

I  breathe… center… re-balance… breathe… listen to the purr…

Often I am inspired to go for a walk… where I make sure to stop and just be part of the landscape… listening to the birds, enjoying the breeze on my skin… feeling part of the big picture… just being present in the moment…  being one with the universe… connected, awed and very, very grateful…

Ah… t’is a gift to be simple isn’t it?

Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt aren’t Good for Us

Our world is being swept up in a huge tidal wave of fear, uncertainty and doubt about our security and for the most part there doesn’t seem to be much we as individuals can do about it.

trust

trust

Well, there is plenty we can do about it:

  • We can stop talking about the negative predictions that are everywhere
  • We can stop soaking up the dire predictions
  • We can stop adding our energy to the mass fear
  • We can start to put our energy into what makes us feel better

What Makes Us Feel Better

  • realization of the incredible abundance in this world
  • focused faith and hope that much needed changes are on the way
  • cleaning up our own affairs
  • being deliberately grateful for our personal abundance
  • talking and thinking about abundance and gratitude instead of fear
  • affirmations about our safety and our many blessings

Going through a day with fear in your heart is not productive and it actually adds to the global negative balance, making it that much heavier for the rest of us who are dedicated to having positive energy…  Stop doing that…

Lighten up for your sake, and lighten up for ours!  Now more than ever, we (the world) need you to feel abundant.

2 Small Ways to Feel Abundant

  • Give away some money to a worthy charity. Amount doesn’t matter, it’s the energy exchange that counts.
  • If you see a penny on the ground, even if it’s in a puddle, stop, appreciate the abundance, say thankyou to the universe and pick it up.

Today is a great day.  You are rich in so many ways… Take that energy with you and spread it around.

So, What Is Beauty Anyway?

The Body/Temple:  Our Body Is A Gift

So many of the women I talk to struggle with body image issues.  There is a lot of collective angst about the wrapping on the package.  Is it really that important what we look like?   Isn’t there a bigger issue?

Beautiful! What's Inside?

Beautiful! So, What's Inside?

I have a life history with self esteem issues myself.  I understand some of the inner turmoil that accompanies a poor body image.  I am still trying to understand the obsession we have with cosmetic beauty.  I am very interested in your thoughts and  stories about it.

Like you, I want to look my best, but I’ve come to realize our body is so much more than what we look like…

Our body is a gift from our creator.  It is our temple.  It houses our Spirit and allows us to move about this life experience while we are here in this place and time.  Such a gift deserves profound respect.

How well do we look after our body/temple?

  • Do we tend to it lovingly?
  • Do we have a spirit of gratitude for the physical health that we enjoy?
  • Do we appreciate the gift?

We are beautiful regardless of age, wrinkles or thigh size.  We are beautiful because we are women.  Silky hair, long legs and perky boobs are bonuses… :)

We bring softness and light to the world… We are connected to every other woman… It is part of our job to help her feel beautiful too… Our daughters are watching us… We are showing them what is important… now that’s a divine assignment…

Have a beautiful day,

Closing the Day With Gratitude and Love… mmmmm…

“Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep….”
When my day comes to an end, I reflect on how closely I followed my morning intentions.

I think back over all of the opportunities I had to practice gratitude, to behave the way I would like to as I walk through my life.

I appreciate growth, notice any manifestations of the law of attraction.

I go over my personal energy readings from the circumstances of the day, decide if any correction needs to be made in the future in my thinking or my behavior.

I reaffirm my commitment to moving forward towards increased personal wellness and spiritual enlightenment.

A time for quiet contemplation.
Breathe deeply, close your eyes and let your awareness scan the events of the day… Scan the day without judgment.  You did the best you could.  Keep an attitude of self-acceptance and approval.  Look for areas to become a better woman tomorrow.  Smile, say your prayers and sleep a gentle sleep, knowing that all is well… (sigh)…

For your journal, for your thoughts…

  • Where did you practice love, gratitude and acceptance?
  • Where were the challenges?
  • What can you put in place tomorrow that will better equip you
to move through your experiences with increased piece of mind?

Opening this Day

This day is fresh, full of possibilities. photo_3078_20090105

Morning is the time to decide how we will move through this day.  By focusing on the way we would like to feel as the day unfolds, we are placing an order for the types of experiences that we will encounter.  If our focus is on all that is wrong in our life, by the law of attraction, we will be ordering more of what is wrong in our life.  By focusing on the way we want to feel as we walk through our day, we will be attracting more of what we do want.

Consider creating a personal morning declaration, a covenant so to speak for the necessary components of a day that you will consider well spent in harmony, growth and serenity.

Take a few moments to consider what is truly important to you, and what a day of complete serenity for you would look like. In it include how you want to feel in your heart, take care of yourself, behave, treat others.

Set your compass for a day worth living.  You are trading a day of your life span for the privilege of experiencing today.  Make it worth it.

Once you begin this process, and practice it,  you will find that the quality of your day will blossom..  You will easily focus on what is important to you, you can accept guidance from your inner wise one.  Make a commitment to pay attention to your inner life, it is a precious gift and it deserves to be honored.

As an example…..
Just for Today….

  • I will be aware of my many blessings and practice gratitude.
  • I will pray for world peace.
  • I will be aware of how i feel.
  • I will drink plenty of water.
  • I will dress in a way that I feel good.
  • I will practice acceptance of others.
  • I will take the time to listen to others.
  • I will do something thoughtful for someone.
  • I will eat nutritious foods.
  • I will move my body.
  • I will get enough rest.
  • I will set healthy limits on my time.

For your journal, for your thoughts…

Create your personal daily covenant. Write it out in your journal, handwrite a copy to carry with you.  Think about it as you walk through your day.  Feel free to change it as you change… What is important to you?  Make a declaration.

Peace and Blessings,

Joyce

Finding Personal Power, and once you find it, what do you do with it?

What exactly does personal power feel like?  Getting a grip on the concept of power might be like trying to capture mist in a butterfly net.the-yard-summer-08-058
I am all about keeping it simple.  What I know about personal power is this. .. When I feel powerful, behind it is always a foundation of self-approval and acceptance and love.

When I am Powerful…

  • I make wiser decisions.
  • I set healthy boundaries.
  • I choose healthy friends.
  • I problem solve from a place of  strength.
  • I stand grounded in the face of difficulties.
  • I automatically take supreme care of myself

When I am not feeling powerful, behind it is always a foundation of self-judgment, disapproval and a non self-loving nature.

That’s simple isn’t it?
So… the quest becomes one of self-care, love, approval, acceptance and the power follows as the prize.  A woman who loves herself unconditionally, will naturally be powerful.

For your journal, for your thoughts…
Go behind the scenes and look at the way you are treating yourself.  What messages about your worth and value play just beneath the surface? What does feeling powerful look like to you in your life today?

Here’s to a gently powerful day…

Women and Self Esteem: I Dedicate My Inner Growth to My Mom

whitney-gardens-225My mom has been gone for 15 years… I still think of her every day… In fact I carry her in my awareness much of the time, wondering… wondering…

She died about the same time that I began my inner journey of health and wellness.

There are so many things that I would love to talk about with Mom now.  I often wonder what she would have thought of some things…  We didn’t speak the language of inner growth in our relationship… not because we were resistant to the concepts, more because we hadn’t been exposed to them.

I don’t think she ever had an opportunity to listen to Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Maya Angelou, Marianne Williamsom, Abraham-Hicks, etc.  Her world was about raising 6 kids and being the center of our family wheel.

I think Mom left much of her unfinished business unfinished,  her unresolved places unresolved.  I believe she would have welcomed the journey of inner growth and wellness had the access been there.

Mom would have enjoyed journaling because she loved to write… she would have loved Marianne Williamson and Maya Angelou because she loved to read flowing romantic novels.  She would have enjoyed exploring and reflecting because she was brave and curious.  She listened to German singers with rich, vibrant voices … she loved the melody in words… I just know she would have loved Abraham-Hicks.

So, for what it’s worth, I made a decision long ago to dedicate my growth as a woman to my Mom… and her Mom and her Mom before her.

I love you Mom, always have, always will…

Doing Your Best To Stay Positive… worrying about money is not going to get you what you want…

I sure get a lot of feedback from women who really struggling to keep a positive outlook.  Seems that many are worried about jobs and money.  No small wonder, we are bombarded with news that is designed to terrify us.imagephp

It is really a challenge to not feel affected.  So, in the face of the current global reality, just how does a person keep a positive attitude and not worry about money.

Damage control… some thoughts…

Empower yourself.  Educate yourself. I really recommend reading or watching Suze Orman.  There are many more resources.

Put a positive plan into place that will give you a sense of security. Knowing how you will handle things can allow you to open, breathe and flow your energy.  Put your positive energy into implementing your plan.  Eyes open to your situation, this is not a time to be asleep.

If you are in a marriage or partnership, support each other.  There is strength in numbers.  Talk about your positive plans together.  Be a team.  Know that your relationship can survive and be strengthened by adversity.  Be grateful.

Once your plan is in place, look for the blessings… be grateful for your resourcefulness, be grateful for the food on your table, the sheets on your bed.  Be grateful for your family, for your friends, your community.  Be grateful that you can save even a bit of money.

We still live in one of the most abundant cultures in the world.  We have so much to be grateful for.  Look around.  This is NOT the end of the world!  We will survive this.

If you are holding back on your spending at this time, at the very least, bless the money that you are spending as you send it out into the universe to circulate.  It is only by circulating our money-energy that we will gain momentum again..  Bless every penny that you spend… someone is on the receiving end of that penny… Be grateful and celebrate every penny that you receive, someone had the courage and faith to circulate it…

Ask your friends what they are doing to stay positive.  Stop talking about the “global depression crisis”.  When you focus on it, you are only adding to the negative energy… Stop it!  Talk about building and growing!  Choose language of abundance.

What do you do to maintain your positive attitude?  Got any tips you can share?  Penny for your thoughts…

In a-bun-dance

Joyce
