Doing Your Best To Stay Positive… worrying about money is not going to get you what you want…
I sure get a lot of feedback from women who really struggling to keep a positive outlook. Seems that many are worried about jobs and money. No small wonder, we are bombarded with news that is designed to terrify us.
It is really a challenge to not feel affected. So, in the face of the current global reality, just how does a person keep a positive attitude and not worry about money.
Damage control… some thoughts…
Empower yourself. Educate yourself. I really recommend reading or watching Suze Orman. There are many more resources.
Put a positive plan into place that will give you a sense of security. Knowing how you will handle things can allow you to open, breathe and flow your energy. Put your positive energy into implementing your plan. Eyes open to your situation, this is not a time to be asleep.
If you are in a marriage or partnership, support each other. There is strength in numbers. Talk about your positive plans together. Be a team. Know that your relationship can survive and be strengthened by adversity. Be grateful.
Once your plan is in place, look for the blessings… be grateful for your resourcefulness, be grateful for the food on your table, the sheets on your bed. Be grateful for your family, for your friends, your community. Be grateful that you can save even a bit of money.
We still live in one of the most abundant cultures in the world. We have so much to be grateful for. Look around. This is NOT the end of the world! We will survive this.
If you are holding back on your spending at this time, at the very least, bless the money that you are spending as you send it out into the universe to circulate. It is only by circulating our money-energy that we will gain momentum again.. Bless every penny that you spend… someone is on the receiving end of that penny… Be grateful and celebrate every penny that you receive, someone had the courage and faith to circulate it…
Ask your friends what they are doing to stay positive. Stop talking about the “global depression crisis”. When you focus on it, you are only adding to the negative energy… Stop it! Talk about building and growing! Choose language of abundance.
What do you do to maintain your positive attitude? Got any tips you can share? Penny for your thoughts…

Hi
Enjoyed the today’s post…
I have become fascinated with the observations and input from those that were growing up during the Depression. They all basically say the same thing…
What is everyone upset about? It was worse then (and they laugh!)
Life is a marvelous adventure…don’t get caught up in all this rigamarole!
Keep laughing and loving because that is what is really important.
Things come and go…stuff wears out…[shrug].
“I lived on 25 cents a WEEK back then…if I made it through that…this is nothing.”
I find their wisdom comforting.
I learned to cook from scratch from my mother (who learned to cook from scratch and grew up during the Depression)…and now…I am going back to that…
I learned to grow my own vegetables…from my mother etc (see above!)…
I learned to sew…I can hem/repair my own clothing…
I am not seeing this as an uncomfortable change where I have to go without and make do and struggle…
this is a most EMPOWERING time…where I learn to take care of myself (and hubby!)…I call upon my resourcefulness, creativity and ingenuity to bring forth an abundance of LIVING. For this is how to live…living isn’t showing off the latest gadgets or wearing the finest clothing or taking exotic vacation…or becoming stressed over the house payment or retirement funds.
Living is about bringing forth everything within you..
and right now the Universe is having all of us re-examine this…and when we begin to show our inner abundance…the material world will respond.
Hi Joyce,
Strangely enough BEFORE the crisis my husband and I weren’t doing well, financially….however, now that all the hubub about the economy is here we’re doing fine! We consolidated our debt to one lower payment and I started implementing the envelope system. Now everything is under control!
The envelope system: Whenever payday gets here (twice a week for us) I use envelopes to divide up the money we have left after paying the bills with online banking and laving a little in the acct. I have an envelope for fun, gas for the car, groceries, cash for a bill that may come up, and daycare. It’s great and we’re feeling MUCH more POSITIVE!!
Oh, another tip: reading books about people who have goals to be millionaires… just because they are SUCH positive people!
Dwell in positivity and you can’t go wrong…
Blessings,
Kim
