The Zen of Christmas… thriving & surviving the excess

ls0050041Sugar cookies, eggnog, fruit cake, chocolate, decadent desserts, wine, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, butter, whipped cream, nuts…did I mention chocolate?

Gift wrapping, 24 hour shopping, line-ups, debit machines, parties… all that glitters…

T’is the season of the feasts. T’is the season of excess.

Are you worried that you are going to overindulge in all the holiday excess that shows up everywhere this time of the year?

  • Are you already stressed about the weight you are doomed to gain?
  • Are you already making your New Year’s Resolutions?
  • Did you get into trouble last year?
  • Have you thought about the kinds of situations you will find your self in and planned for them?

What will your holiday season look like this year?

I am looking forward to a glimpse into your way of walking through this time of the year…

Celebrating Farrah and Michael… Invitation to share your stories…

Good Morning,

The Great Mystery…

whitney-gardens-253_21

What a sad day yesterday.  We lost not one but two icons from our youth.

Thinking back, I can probably remember all the words to all the Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 songs…  I loved his music and like countless others, consider him one of the greatest creative genius of all time…

In my youth, I watched Michael grow up on stage.  I felt invested in his growth.  I listened to and watched Thriller over and over and over and over… dazzled by his beauty, his voice and his dancing.

Being the same age, I felt so connected to him and his music.  He was a great, great artist and I will miss him…  I always held hope for a comeback…

My brother had the famous Farrah Fawcett poster as I’m sure yours did too.  I loved Charlie’s Angels at the time… they were beautiful and smart and funny and had exciting lives… Like all my friends, I watched every episode…

I really respected the role she played in The Burning Bed… she proved that she was willing to go beyond the confines of beauty queen and was indeed a serious actress.  Any time I saw her talk on an interview, I was touched by her gentleness and honesty.

In my heart and wishes, I held the door open for her to return to health and wellness…

Our world has lost some color…

Please feel free to share your stories of the impact these two artists had here.

PS… I wonder who was born yesterday?  What little souls have joined us here?  Welcome! Welcome!  The Wheel of Life continues to turn…

Feels Good To Feel Good Doesn’t It?

Good Morning…

Wow… there have been many beautiful responses to my Power Word of the Day exercise from women all over the world…  How wonderful!

It proves that we naturally move towards feeling good.  It is how we are genetically programmed.  We seek the light… the love…

I hope by now, you have a sense of who I am… I am all about supporting you as you seek your own light… I speak from my heart… I tell my truth… no pretense… just one woman, walking my talk…

I am bedazzled by the possibilities of the internet… We are women from all over the globe… talking with each other…  to me, that is the ultimate ‘groovy-ness…’

In fact, my formal vision statement is:

To help women worldwide to unconditionally love the Woman In The Mirror.

Supporting you is what I do… it’s what I love…

I am blessed beyond words by your appreciation of my work… To know that what I offer of myself is relevant and accepted with such grace fills my heart…

I like creating my life with a full heart…

Namaste…

Positive Living: Our friends define us…

I think the friendships I hold near and dear to my heart help to define me. I have heard it said that we are the average of the 5 friends we spend the most time with.  I really thought about that…

I love the 5 friends that I spend the most time with and am proud to be the average of them…img_04145

Friendships are like tapestries… woven of individual strands of texture and color, they show us the quality of our self esteem and self confidence.  Friends should bring out the best in us and we should help them glow as well…

The picture was taken at my 50th birthday party last year… these are some of my closest women friends… smart, confident and fun women (that’s me with my smart, confident and fun horse nibbling my hat:)) … I am honored to be their friend…

  • Have you ever asked your friends how they would describe you?
  • Are you aware of the roles each of you play in the relationship?
  • What do you bring to the table?
